ABOUT THE ARTIST

Te Karehana Gardiner-Toi, known by his mononym Teeks, is a Maori soul singer from New Zealand. His debut album, Something To Feel, was released in 2021. The music video for his single, "Without You", was released in 2020 and was directed by Tom Gould. Teeks has said, "It's my favourite place in the world", adding that this is the territory his father is from.

Breaking into the music scene, Teeks has taken home Best Māori Artist and was nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, as well as Best Soul/RnB Artist at the 2017 New Zealand Music Awards. With more under his belt, he has featured in Vogue's blog, while also taking home Best New Zealand Act at the 2021 MTV EMA's.
